Nokomis Energy, a Minneapolis-based energy developer is seeking a Lead Project Manager to oversee the final engineering, key procurement and construction of 1-20MW solar and solar+storage projects across the Upper Midwest. The individual will have ownership responsibilities for taking projects from the development team and seeing them through COD and into successful operation.

Our ideal candidate will have experience building large solar projects, procuring key equipment including solar panels and inverters, and contracting third party EPCs, GCs and sub-contractors to execute projects. This is a great opportunity to engineer and construct the latest in clean energy technologies.

Essential Job Functions

  • Select, contract and manage engineering and construction firms to execute projects
  • Own project budgets and optimize final costs
  • Build and maintain project schedules
  • Manage procurement of key equipment including solar modules
  • Review and optimize project designs
  • Support permitting
  • Ensure contractors are properly managing project sites
  • Support third party financing through delivery of key documents, reports and inspections
  • Support utility coordination for energization
  • Oversee project testing, closeout and handoff

Qualifications & Skills

  • Background in construction management
  • Experience with multi-million dollar construction projects
  • Basic understanding of electricity systems including pv system design
  • Familiarity with applicable NEC and Building codes
  • Understanding of key engineering areas including electrical, civil, structural and geotechnical
  • Strong self-starter and project manager
  • Creative, solutions oriented team player

Terms of Employment

Full-time, salary $60-$100K+ based on performance
