OUR VISION | Nokomis Energy is an Upper Midwest based provider of clean energy solutions helping communities, corporates, industrials and utilities take advantage of the Energy Transition. We are hiring a Development Engineering Lead to manage and optimize design of 1-20MW solar and storage solutions across the Upper Midwest.

HOW YOU’RE HELPING THE TRANSITION | At Nokomis, we recognize that with increasing frequency, communities, businesses and organizations are seeking to become active participants in transitioning our energy system to cleaner, cheaper and more local energy sources. Development Engineering plays an integral role to our ability to cost effectively construct clean energy projects. On any given day you will be defining solar & storage technology standards, identifying project risks, overseeing new sales designs, estimating energy performance & build costs, reviewing interconnection and permit submittals, managing third party engineering firms, supporting epc contracting and approving construction designs.

WHY YOU’RE A GOOD FIT | Our ideal candidate will have significant experience designing megawatt scale PV systems across ground, rooftop and canopy applications. Previous experience with storage and utility distribution systems is not required, but a good technical understanding of each is critical to being effective. This role will work across all stages of the company from early origination efforts to late stage development and release to construction. Development Engineering plays a critical role in the success of the Clean Energy Transition and is core to Nokomis’ ability to provide high quality service to our customers. Essential Job Functions

  • PV System Design & Energy Estimation – Ability to accurately design megawatt scale site layouts, single lines and PVSYSTs
  • Cost Estimation – Possess an understanding of the impact of design decisions on build cost
  • Risk Evaluation – Experience identifying and solving technical risks including geotechnical and structural constraints. Confidence in escalating risks to leadership
  • Communication – Strong ability to communicate with development teammates, manage engineering partners, learning from and educating customers
  • Technical Expertise – Ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of module, inverter, battery, racking and plant controller components and ability to evaluate and integrate new equipment into plants designs

Compensation

  • Total Annual Compensation (Salary + Bonus) of $120-$180K based on experience
